Ugg is right when these boots are worn out of weather context.
Across campus I've witnessed the fashion injustice of girls wearing high shin boots with, brace yourself—skirts in the spring.
Winter boots were made for climates with snow and low temperatures. We don't see too many occasions in Arizona where this kind of fashion is practical, especially in Scottsdale.
Through deliberate determination we have set a standard to where if it is cold enough, or drizzling slightly, we can wear winter boots.
If you go out on days like this, practically every girl you see will be wearing boots.
Skirts and winter boots without leggings is a ridiculous fashion in any case. Whoever thought this combo was a good idea in Arizona was delusional.
This winter we saw some cute boots stomping around campus complimented by leggings, knit dresses and hoodies. It is time to put those cute boots back in the closet.
March appears to be a transition month that seems to have put some students in denial that these winter fashions need to go into storage and the spring sun dresses and shades need to make their way to the front.
Even the cutest pair of boots look ridiculous as the weather approaches 85 degrees.
If you add leggings to the outfit the entire look changes to trendy and practical.
I've talked to a lot of my guy friends about this style and they agree that it is not flattering to any girl.
Fuzzy boots cut the leg off at the shin and makes the legs appear stumpy without the elongating effect of leggings.
Plus, short skirts cut off mid-thigh, which makes your torso look too long for stumpy legs or thighs too wide for curvy hips.
In Arizona, we are lucky that we can get away with wearing shorts, skirts, dresses and Capri jeans when the East Coast is still bundled up, so let's not abuse this privilege.
This time of year, appropriate shoe fashions are predominantly flip flops, strappy sandals, short heels in vibrant colors and wedge sandals.
